Pain Around Left Side Waist, Ct Scan With Contrast Produced A Lump. Some Diagnosis ?

my husband got the results of ct scan with contrast. He has had left side (around his waist) pain for years and now has produced a lump. The doctors office wants him to have another test as there may be signs of calcification in the vascular system. he is diabetic and 65 years old. Could you explain some of the possibilities for a diagnosis?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The lump present on the left side of the waist could be due to a soft tissue swelling or an intra abdominal lump. An MRI scan will help in detecting the nature and extent of lump.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
