Pain And Weakness In Hand When Playing Guitar. Suspected Focal Dystonia. Right Diagnosis?

Good morning,

I am an italian guitar player and when I play guitar my left hand get weak very fastness and I accuse pain in my hand with the result that I have to rest to recover and play again (maybe the day after). Yesterday I had an examination by a hand surgeon and he said that I have no problems (no damages) in the muscles and the tendeons but he suspects focal dystonia. I read about it but it seems that focal dystonia does give no pain...but I feel pain. Could I have your opinion please?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
It seems it may be carpal tunnel syndrome, I am not very much sure about it because in such case the complete medical examination and history are required, because of your playing of guitar, may cause the pain to confirm it just stop playing the guitar for few week, if it goes away then it must be the carpal tunnel syndrome if does not go away then other possibility should be look for, Have good day.
