Pain And Tenderness In Breast, Near Rib Cage, Sharp Pain In Pectoral Region. Done MRI. Is This Fibromyalgia Or A Tumor?

HI, I am a 35 year old male. A few years ago I started to notice pain around my left breast, more towards the ribcage. It was a deep very sharp pain , especially if pressed. I told the doctor about it and he did a MRI and showed nothing as a result. After a while , I started to develop the same symptoms in my right breast/pectoral area. Since then I have started to have aches and pains all over my upper torso, but mostly under the arms and down the ribcage and espcially along muscle strands like my Lats. My Dr seems to think is may be fibromyalgia and has started me on Lyrica which has helped allot of the tenderness in my ribs and lats, but I still have some sharp pain in my Pectoral still.

I have also noticed that I have the same pain on the left side of both knees, and around the inside of my upper thighs. The pain on the inside of my knees actually goes up toward the inside of my thigh and down towards the inside of my calves. I should also note that when these symptoms first started I noticed little hard spots, which my Dr believes is fat tumors. He recommended me to see a surgeon to have one removed and biopsied, but after seeing the surgeon he informed me that where these were located that they could only be fat tumors and that I should just leave them alone.

I don't know what to do, I am worried because I have been having so much of these pain symptoms, combined with these lumps and some are near lymph nodes. My blood work has been fine every 6 months, but I am still a bit concerned. Could this be fibromyalgia? I been studying up on it and I do exibit a majority of fibro symptoms. Any advice on what I should do now would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oncologist, Surgical 's  Response
Dear Ma'am,

Sorry to hear about your problem. From your symptoms it does look like you are suffering from fibromyalgia. This is a disorder in which a patient complains of pains in various parts of the body. This is a diagnosis of exclusion and in your case most of the causes have been ruled out. You should consult an internal medicine doctor and a rheumatologist and start the treatment for fibromyalgia.

Hoping for the best.
