Pain And Inflammation In Knuckle Of Index Finger. No Relief After Taking Ibuprofen

Hi and thank you,

I have pain and inflammation in the knuckle of my left index finger from overplayiing the guitar at a wedding. I have given it a rest for two months and have been massaging the area, treating it with ice and heat and 600mg. of Ibuprofen each day yet no relief. There is no swelling. just pain and inflammation when I try to bend the finger.

Hi,

There seems to be a ligament injury. Regular finger massage is not letting the injury to heal. I advise a complete immobilisation of the finger for few days with NSAIDs to relieve pain and inflammation.
