Pain And Heaviness In The Chest And Shoulder. Diagnosed With Pneumonia. Severe Headache. Taking Zithromax. Need Help

i had upper chest and shoulder pain on Monday May 13
On Tuesday the pain was in the middle of my chest between my breasts and it felt like an elephant was standing on me. I didn't know whether I needed to puke or have a bowel movement. I went to the walk-in clinic that evening and I was prescribed Tylenol and Zithromax for a "cold". I started the antibiotics right away.
When I woke up on Wed May 15, the pain had moved to my left chest and neck and pains shot out of my head. I went to a different walk-in clinic and my fever was 39. That Dr ordered a chest xray and cbc bloodwork test. He did not prescribe any medications but said that I had walking pneumonia.
On Thurs May 16, the pain was still there and it was difficult to breathe all day. I was taking ibuprohen, Tylenol and oxycocets to alleviate the pain. I took the oxys wen I woke up to get control of the pain and then when I went to bed, so I was able to sleep.
On Friday May 17, I went to the Emergency department at the London Health Sciences Centre. They did two tests on my heart and did bloodwork, and sent me for a chest xray.
The dr said I had Pneamonia. He did not prescribe any antibiotic, because I was still taking the Zithromax. I asked him what I was suppose to do for the pain, he said he wouold give me T3's, even thought I told them I was allergic to codeine, I told him this and he prescribed Indomethacin 50 mg - take 1 capsule three times a day for 5 days.
I took the last Zithromax this morning and have taken two of the Indomethacin tablets today. Ive also taken two does of Tylenol for a pounding head ache that I have.
the pain in my chest is still there and Im ready to start taking the Oxycocets again, but I don't want to O.D.
I need some medical help and no one seems to care that I am in pain.
I have been in bed since Friday May 17 at 1:00pm. Im drinking tons of fluids and have to get up tp go to the bathroom every half an hour. My fever is finally under control.
Can you give me some advice? Please? I cant handle this pain anymore

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

From the description of the location of the pain, it would have been good that your doctors excluded rule out stress-induced gastric ultra as that could be the origin of your pain.
Your doctors are probably not handling the pain directly because, chest pain due to pneumonia usually subsides as the pneumonia is cured. Usually oral steroid antiinflammatory could help improve the pain if due to pneumonia (hoping that there is no pleurisy which is causing the pain). Pain due to pneumonia is usually as a result of inflammation of the lung parenchyma and so you will require a steroidal antiinflammatory such as prednisone. Zithromax is a good antibiotics for pneumonia, alternatively your doctor could have placed you on amoxicillin+ clavulinic acid for 10 days.
You may go back to the same clinics and present as complain the pain and let them understand you need relief.

Hope this helps
