Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
From the description of your problem, it is unlikely that you have sustained a fracture. Severe pain
, swelling and restriction of movement are the cardinal features of a fracture invoving a major joint like the hip joint. The fact that you are able to walk and have a near normal range of mobility are pointers against a hip fracture
. It is more likely that you have sustained a soft tissue injury
and the skin discoulouration could be due to a hematoma
. I would suggest that you take adequate rest, apply hot fermentations over the area and take some anti-inflamatory medication like ibuprofen
, which should be available over the counter. However, if you pain is persistent or your symptoms are worsening, then you need a detailed evaluation and further medical attention.
Wish you all the best.
