Overweight with diabetes. Have smoking addiction. On cholesterol, sugar and blood pressure medication. Advice?

my male friend is 57. heavy smoker/ onset of diabeties and moderately overweight . He does take cholesterol med. plus sugar pills plus blood presssure pills the other day he took his pressure and it was 180/90....on medication he feels like crap all of the time what should he do?...other then the obvious....stop smokeing and loose weight

Smoking,Hypertension,Diabetes and Obesity are life syle diseases only taking medicine is not the answer ,a holistic way of treatment with positive attitude keep small target and he needs good motivation and support.He may required to increase the dose of BP medicine or add one more agent,antidiabetic drugs may be adjusted if required Insulin may be added to control of diabetes.
Take breakfast,lunch and dinner diabetic and low fat and low cholesterol diet reduce calories start walking 1 to 2 kms/day.Definately quit smoking.He can try Yoga and meditation to improve mood. Blood pressure and diabetes may not be cured but can be controlled almost always.
