I have an osteochondritis dissecans of the Talus in both of my ankles. They were discovered at the same time but my right ankle was a lot worse than the other. I have had 2 surgeries since then, both on my right ankle first surgery was November, 2005 and July, 2007. Both arthroscopy. The right ankle is a Bilateral OCD and my left is just a normal one I guess. Although I have had 2 surgeries on my right ankle the ODC is back and bigger. The defect is now the size or a silver dollar and I have arthritis from the two surgeries and my cartilage is in pieces and some was taken out during the last surgery. At the moment I am in a walking cast on my left leg because that OCD has gotten worse since they last checked and has a bone spur. My right leg is in a stirrup so it wont give out while I am unsteadily walking in the boot because my right ankle gives out and rolls on me about 3 x daily and it is very painful. My doctor is trying to heal my left ankle before it gets any worse and it trying to slow the arthritis in my right ankle until he can figure out what it is he can do. Please give me some guidance if you can. I am 20 years old and still have a long way to go! Anything is appreciated.
