Open Heart Surgery Suggested After Angiogram Test Shows Blocks. Is There An Alternative?

Hello Sir,
My dad had chest pain some time back and when consulted a cardiologist, he suggested for an angiogram test. The report says that he has 3 blocks and the percentage is 70% with two blocks and 90% with the third one. He has been suggested for an open heart surgery which we don't prefer. Please let us know , do we have any alternative. He never smokes or drinks.
Thanks

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The recommendation is based on the nature and extent of involvement / feasibility or otherwise of angioplasty / in addition to associated morbidity like Diabetes etc.. / and so on
The only alternative is to have angioplasty and stent
The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation and total clinical picture.
Further deterioration can be prevented or postponed by aggressive management of the disease and risk factors.

Good luck
Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
