Open Bloody Sore, Burning In Inner Labia, Swelling, Redness And Pain In Public Region With Craters Oozing Yellow Pus. History Of Using Veet On Genital Area. Help

Friends of mine have used Veet on the genital area before and recommended it for me. I have a lot of ingrown hairs so tried this method. I have no pain or burning sensation around my outer labia but have an open sore from the Veet on my inner labia which is bloody and burning. The entire pubic region on the bone is swollen red painful and full of bloody craters after using Veet (3 minutes) and some are oozing yellow puss. It is extremely painful and itchy as though someone chemically burned off pieces of my skin. What can I do for relief ? I have tried polysporin and cold packs but those make it worse. Should I see a doctor ?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
All chemical products may not suit to all persons.
You may be having sensitive skin.
Better to consult gynecologist once and get examined.
You may need local and systematic antibiotics.
Using analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs will decrease pain and swelling.
Sitz bath can give some relief.
Take care.

Hi!
welcome to HCM!
YES you must see a doctor.
Veet contains thioglycolic acid and potassium hydroxide. These ingredients react to generate the depilatory chemical potassium thioglycolate.
While they're simple to use and painless for many people, but still patch test must be done on a small portion of skin before using them.
some individuals with sensitive skin cannot tolerate the chemical composition; and end up with a chemical burn after rinsing the product off.
you have a chemical burn from using Veet,
You must get examined in the meanwhile you can use some 1% hydrocortisone cream with Aloe (sold in all the drug stores) . It’s an anti inflammatory product and will relieve you.
take care!
