On And Off Stabbing Pain Around Right Ear While Chewing, Talking, Brushing Hair Etc. Help From Advil. Any Ideas?

hi,
i have been getting intermittent, stabbing pains above and behind my right ear. i've had this problem before. it will last a day or two, then go away on it's own. this time it's been going on for about 3 days. its almost non existent when i wake up, then it gets worse as the day goes on. sometimes chewing, talking, or brushing my hair can trigger this pain. it usually will respond to advil, but i don't want to keep on taking medicine just to relieve this pain. any idea what this could be?

Hello,

Stabbing pain around ears while chewing/talking may be due to-ear infection or pericoronitis due to inflammed impacted tooth.

Please do visit a dentist and get a check up.

Impacted wisdom tooth if present ,has to be extracted or restored depending on the position of tooth.

Complete course of metronidazole as well as analgesics has to be administered.

Please do visit an E N T Specialist too.

Take care.
