On And Off Pain In Throat, Headache. No Help From Cold Medications. Suggested Not Tonsils. Thoughts?

Hi,

I am a 24 year old guy. Since the past one year, I have been experiencing pain in my throat (like a sore throat) on and off. Sometimes, this happens even when i dont have cold or cough, and due to this, even my head starts aching. I have been to two ENT specialists, who said this is because of cold, and gave me medicines, but it didn't help. Both of them have said that it is not tonsils. Please suggest what it could be, and how can i get it cured.

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, I would like to suggest that you should get following investigations done :-

1. Complete blood Count(CBC).
2. Throat Swab Culture.
3. Sputum Examination.
4. Thyroid profile.

Medication can be planned according to the reports of the above mentioned investigations.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
