On Brenda, Had Unprotected Sex, Brown Light Discharge. Why Is This Happening?
Hi, I have been on Brenda for over a year. I took two of my sugar pills and then decided I didn t want my period so I took the other pills. I still ended up getting my period for 5-6 days. On the 6th day when my period was almost gone I had unprotected sex, so just in case I took the morning after pill, I then had brown light discharge for the next 2-3 days. I have been taking my normal pills for the last 15 days and now I am getting a brown discharge again. Can you help me? Im not sure why this is happening and am worried?
hi and thanks for the query, Pills are usualy associated with changes in the menstrual flow and normal vaginal discharge. It is not unusual to experience such events especially with a brief period of leaving pills. However, for a discharge to be brown is of concern. It is necessary that a normal sample of the discharge be obtained to exclude a probable infection. The opinion and examination by a gynecologist is my advice. thanks and kind regards. It migt be helpful asking your partner to get checked also. Dr Bain
