Old Aged, On Several Medications. Common To Have Two BP Medicines At Once?

my 83 year old father has been on many Rx for years...6 months ago ...he developed SEVERE itching, rash ...all over. after many false starts the doctors are now thinking to eliminate some meds. they are starting with his cholesterol Rx (Ezetimbide?) i am betting it is probably blood pressure Rx...since he is on TWO...(lisonopril...and metropropanol ..sp?) the question: is it COMMON to have two BP meds at once?
