Old Aged, Had High Blood Pressure Attack, On Cardizem, HCTZ-Triamterene, Lisinopril. Above Medicines Can Be Taken?

Hi my Dad is 92. He had a high blood pressure attack yesterday (185/110). He has been on Cardizem and
HCTZ-Triamterene, for over a year, after a brief episode of A. Fib last year.
Two weeks ago he ran out of the Cardizem and just quit taking it, saying he felt better without it.
He got a refill on the Cardizem (Diltiazem actually) yesterday, but still felt bad and went to the E.R. They gave him a RX for Lisinopril.
I can't get in touch with his Drs. today.
It is OK for him to be taking all three of these B.P. Meds?
I'm a dental specialist, but know heart medicine and don't want to influence him incorrectly about the meds.
Thanks,
Carl B

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,
Your father is 92 year and taking treatment for high blood pressure, his reading is high 185/110 mm of hg.

Diuretics HCTZ and Triamterene weak anti hypertensive and Diltiazem is given to control heart rate as he suffered Atrial Fibrillation.
Please give him Lisinopril as prescribed which will help to reduce his blood pressure.

His blood pressure should be monitored and dose of medicine can be adjusted accordingly.
In my opinion he can take all prescribed medicines, you should remain cautious about the monitoring of blood pressure. His blood pressure should be less than 160/90 mm of hg.

Hope this helps
Take very good care of him.
Good Luck.

Hi, probably he is not feeling well with the cadizem since he got A.F. so his doctor changed his medicines from cadizem to the lisinopril. So now he has to use the lisinopril and triamterine , and need not use the cardizem.
Thank you.
