Occasional discomfort and numbness in Ear. Would a hair cause problem for Ear?

would a hair across the ear drum possibly be responsible for ear problems? I know it can cause fluttering but I have also had occassional discomfort and the ear feels numb and the hearing a bit dull, kind of like I have been around loud noises even though I have not. It also feels like sometimes certain sounds can be annoying to the ear.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

I have understood your concern regarding the hearing loss or discomfort in your ears.

To answer your question about the hair causing discomfort and numbness, yes it is possible that it can cause both but in all likelihood it will most probably be an impacted wax or an infection of the drum which usually causes these symptoms.

You need to get an audiometry testing done (both PTA and impedence) and also get your drum examined and get back to me with the reports.

Meanwhile do not meddle with your ears and do not use ear buds
If you hear voices in the ear and you are intolerant to loud noise then you must definitely get the above testing done as soon as possible.
