Noticed Swelling Of Left Palm,acute Pain & Burning Sensation Due To Paralytic Attack

my grandma is around 80 years old and she has just gone through paralytic attack a month back and now her left palm swells up and there is acute pain with burning sensation....this more often happens at night, i would like to know the reason behind it and how to come over this problem...

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Possible causes include carpal tunnel syndrome or vit B1 deficiency.
2. Give her vit B1 supplements. Its possibly dry beriberi. Vit B1 assay can be helpful.
3. For carpal tunnel syndrome, flexing the wrist to the possible extent for more than a minute should increase further numbness.
4. Electro diagnostic testing will also be helpful in confirmation. Meet your doctor for tests.
