Noticed A Lump On Rear Side Of Head. Same Region Had A Concussion. What Is It And Concerns?

Good evening. About a month ago my husband was rear ended in his car and had pretty bad whiplash. His doctor said he had a concussion (from the back of his head hitting the headrest). Tonight he noticed a good size lump right above his rear on the right side of his head. Do you have any suggestions what this would be? Should he be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
It seems like he had possible small haematoma over the site of injury at the time of accident - it is slowly resolving now given the history of symptoms
If Ultrasound is arranged for this lump it will give a clear idea as to what it is exactly
But it doesn't seem to be anything that you should be extremely concerned about (pending test results)
