Normal PAP Smears. Negative For Yeast Infection. Irritated Skin On Labia Minora, Swelling, Itching. Monistat Ineffective

I haven't had sex in months, so I know it's not from that and I've had normal pap smears. It's been a recurring problem that I thought was a yeast infection, but my ob/gyn says the test was negative. It's on my inner labia minora on both the left & right side. It's a very raw patch on both sides, clearly discolored from the rest. It's swollen, itchy & irritated. I've tried monistat with no results, I've also tried some kind of ointment the gyn prescribed that did not work. I don't know what else to do. It hurts a great deal & is so raw. What else can I try?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Based on the provided deacription I would advise an elaborate STD panel to be conducted along with the possibility of considering this to be dermatitis and initiating treatment accordingly.

In the meantime, please continue to abstain from sexual intercourse and keep the region dry and clean.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
