Noise In Ear, Increased Heartbeat, Fast Pulse. Neck Pain

Hello,
I have been hearing my heartbeat in my ear for some time now but a few days ago I felt strange like my heart was racing. I checked my pulse and it was very fast. I am a nurse and I was at work so I placed myself on a 3 lead ecg and I had a heart rate of 144 and my underlying rhythm was sinus tach. I also could hear my heart in my ear and my neck hurt on that side

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Increase in the rate or force could have caused the awareness...

Anaemia / Anxiety / Alcohol / Tobacco (smoking) / Caffeine (too much coffee, cola) / Thyroid / Medicines like Phenylephrine used for ‘cold’ / Salbutamol used for asthma / Illicit ‘drugs’ like Amphetamine are notorious to cause abnormal beats... At times, abnormal nerve paths in the heart (bypass tracts) are responsible!

HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance.

The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
