Hi & Welcome to HCM. Lisinopril (Angiotension converting enzyme inhibitor) is an effective medication commonly prescribed to lower the high BP. But unfortunately it is known to cause dry cough as its important side effect in some individuals like your co-worker. This medication has to be discontinued if someone gets dry cough during the course of treatment and the other alternate effective but safer medication would be Losartan (Angiotensin receptor blocker) or Amlodipine (Calcium channel blocker) which do not cause dry cough. Let your co-worker to consult a physician for the prescription.
