Need Medication For Vaginal Dryness

Outside my vagina feels very dry. I have to use lub many times during the day just so I can walk comfortably and without pain. I almost feel like my skin is fusing together. I have no smell, discharge lumps or anything noticeable. The sensation wakes me up in the morning and I am constantly aware of this sensation. Sex has become non existent with my partner as I can't even think about foreplay

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

Your age would have greatly helped as dryness in the vagina can be common in women approaching menopause, or those who are post-menopausal. This is primarily due to a hormonal change. Other conditions which result in hormonal change are breast feeding, aging, child birth, immune disorders, cancer treatment like radio or chemo therapy, cigarettes, surgical removal of ovaries or other parts of the reproductive tract, medications, Sjorgen's syndrome, douching, etc.

But, if none the above mentioned causes are present in your case, then you will have to visit a doctor. Who will first request for a few tests, to check on your hormonal levels. Treatment usually consists of estrogen creams, estrogen rings, estrogen supplemental tablets, etc. A few other lifestyle modifications will also be suggested, but it is best to consult a nutritionist for the same.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
