Need Medication For Extreme Diarrhea

Hi, Doctor I am currently after the latent tb medication and last week I went to my GP and had amoxicillin capsules 500 mg for my toothache. Now, I have an extreme diarrhoea. Doctor, should I finish the remaining amoxicillin capsules or not? Thank you in advance

Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted your history of taking tuberculosis medicines and now given Amoxicillin 500 for toothache, but got diarrhea. Wants to know whether to complete the course.
No, you should stop taking Amoxicillin as it might have caused diarrhea.
I would advise you the following:
Stop Amoxicillin.
Request for change over to another antibiotic and add on an anti-inflammatory.
Take pre and probiotics to restore the bacterial fora of the intestines and also take curd/yogurt, banana, activated charcoal tablets.
I hope this will solve your problems.
