Need Information About Camila Tablets

My doctor prescribed me camila tablet, but I am nervous to take it. Just trying to get more information. I can t take estrogen because I suffer from migraines. Doctor prescribed because I m premenopausal and am having severe mood swings and they hope this may help. I m afraid of getting worse when taking, plus am afraid of weight gain...and all the other side effects mentioned. Just wondering how well this actually does work on patients.

Hi & Welcome to HCM.
Camila (Norethindrone) does't contain estrogen but it is a form of progesterone hormone.
Its beneficial role in the treatment of premenopausal symptoms is not known.
Its most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, bloating, breast tenderness, or weight gain may occur. This medication may raise your blood pressure. Check your blood pressure regularly and tell your doctor if the results are high.
Hope this answers your query.
