Need Help With Understanding My Semen Analysis

Hi, I'm 35 years old, I've made semens analysis last week, the result was:
Total Volume: 4.5 ml.
Sperm Count: 18 million/ml
Morphology: 70% normal, 30% Abnormal.
Motility (after 1 hour): 40% Active, 30% Sluggish, 30% Immotile.
WBC 10-12/HPF
Please advise if the above results are normal or not?
regards, Shadi

Hello
Thanks for writing to us

Your semen analysis report suggests infection.
Sperm count is also decreased.Normally it should be at least 20 millions/ml.
Motility of sperms is normal.Normally at least 55 % sperms should be motile.

Infection is indicated by the presence of excessive pus cells in semen. Normally there shouldn't be any pus cells in semen.
Infection may be due to prostatitis,UTI.
You need antibiotics for infection.
You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,Ultrasound of pelvis should be done.Trans rectal sonography of prostate can be done if needed.
Proper antibiotics should be prescribed depending upon culture and sensitivity report of semen.

Get well soon.
Take Care
