Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a patient of chronic c2h5oh. I have been given zefretol 800mg but as I am at dehradun (India) the medicine is not available. Please suggest any alternate medicine with its composition and name of the company which produce the drug. with best wishes siddhartha sankar roy chowdhury dehradun India
Zefretol is pharmacologically Eslicarbazepine acetate. If the medication is not available in it's brand name, you can search for it based on it's pharmacological composition.
There are alternative medications of similar composition. But due to ethical reasons their names & dosage cannot be mentioned in this forum.
So, you need to consult a Doctor & tell him the pharmacological name or if needed, show him the documents or prescriptions of your previous treatment. Based on this, he will prescribe the medications and can also adjust the dosage depending upon your present health status. Because Eslicarbazepine acetate, being a drug belonging to the class of Anticonvulsant, won't be available without prescription.
Wishing you a Good Health. Take care.
