Hello,
a urinalysis needs to be accompanied by history information in order to be evaluated. Judging from the urinalysis data only I can comment that this looks like a urinary tract infection because there are pus cells (18-20/HPF) and bacteria. Traces of protein can be detected in such cases. Your daughter could be having a urinary tract infection (UTI). There are upper UTI (pyelonephritis) and lower UTI (cystitis). In case of pyelonephritis she may experience high grade fever, rigors and flank pain. In case of cystitis, the most common symptoms are urgency, burning sensation while urinating and frequency. She may also have a dull pain on the suprapubic area or hematuria.
Treatment is required in the following cases:
- pregnancy
- immunodeficiency
- patients undergoing urological procedures
- patients that have any of the above symptoms of pyelonephritis or cystitis.
Asymptomatic patients where none of the above apply need no treatment.
Best Regards!
