Hi,
The pill offers enough protection if you are regular with it, though you may miss the exact time by a few inches. Yet, added protection is needed in the initial month of pill intake as safety cannot be guaranteed. As such, you may need the emergency contraception if you happen to be during the fertile period when the intercourse happened. If you need the pill, please take it within the stipulated time, and a few hours away from the regular pill intake. Your hormonal balance is going to be disrupted in this cycle and you may need assistance if you do not see your next period even after ten days after it is due. Hope this helps.
