Neck Stiffness And Lump At Hairline At The Bottom Of Head, Tender To Touch. How To Resolve It ?

8 days ago a boom box fell off of my filing cabinet and hit the back of my head at the hairline . It didn't really hurt until the next day. Neck stiffness and lump at hairline right where the boom box hit my head. The lump is the size of a Nickle. At first it hurt to touch. Then was tender to touch. Now doesn't hurt to touch, bu still there. If I put heat on the lump it shrinks, but then shortly thereafter comes back to the Nickle size. Just wondering after 8 days if it should be gone or still too soon to resolve. No headaches or fever.

Hi and thanks for the query,
I do think you might have to consult a doctor. Persistence of these symptoms for up to 8 days, especially if this is the first time you are experiencing this requires a proper clinical review. The absence of fever makes the possibility of an infection less likely, but not excluded. I suggest you book a appointment with your primary care doctor, and dermatologist if necessary. Kind regards
