Neck Pain, Swollen Glands, Stiff Neck. What Could Be This?

I HAVE HADE NECK PAIN SINCE SATURDAY. I FEEL BETTER BUT I AM PUZZLED BY THE EVENT.
WE SAT TO HAVE DINNER AS USUAL. SUDDENLY, I FELT LIKE A LIQUID HAD BEEN SPILLED INSIDE. MY NECK WENT STIFF AND GRINDING.
MY NECK AND MY GLANDS GOT SWOLLEN AND MUSCLES AROUND MY NECK SORE. I HAD A PAIR OF ASPERINS AND IT BARELY HELP. I HAD A BAD NIGHT.
AT BREAKFAST TIME, WHILE TRYING TO CHEW, MY NECK GOT WELL, FLEXIBLE AGAIN. I AM STILL SORE BUT I FEEL I AM RECUPERATING.

I AM PUZZLE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AND SHOULD I SEE A DOCTOR?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The presence of swollen glands in the area of neck with a stiffness is likely to be due to a local infection in the area. Proper antibiotics are needed for symptomatic relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
