Neck And Throat Pain, Pressure. Due To Thyroid?

I am having pain in my neck/ throat . There is a lot of pressure and it feels like something is pushing on the front of my neck. I experienced this last night and went to the hospital but it went away by the time I saw a doctor. He mentioned that it may be my thyroid but was unsure. The pain is back today, this time on the side of my neck, and I don t know what to do or what it could be.

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

After going through your history, you have pain in neck and throat.

It needs to be examined carefully and would require proper investigation to exactly know the cause.

The common causes are Sore throat(Infection),Thyroid swelling, Neck muscles spasm,Cervical spondylosis and even Angina Pectoris.

Treatment depends on cause and Investigations like Complete blood count, ECG, cervical spine X ray,Thyroid functions( T3,T4&TSH) if required Thyroid Ultrasonography.

Please consult your physician and once cause is detected it can be treated easily.

Hope this information Helps.
Take care.
Good Luck.
