Nausea With Slight Pain In Abdomen Followed By Vomiting, Slight Headache, Dizziness, Low Appetite. Possible Stomach Bug?

My 13 year old.daughter has been nauseated for almost a week complaining of slight upper mid abdominal pain. She came home Sat and proceeded to vomit every hour for 6hours. I checked her temp, normal, I checked a blood sugar because her sister has type 1 diabetes, 98mg/dl. She did complain of slight headaches throughout the week. Today dizziness but I expected that from vomiting and not eating. I tried keeping her hydrated. She is still nauseated but has somewhat of her appetite back. I feel like Im missing something, stomach bug?

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

Her complaints are pain in abdomen and nausea and vomiting, yes it is possible to have some kind of infection in intestines or Liver like Hepatitis?

There is also loss pf appetite which suggests infection of liver hence you should take he to Physician and it can be easily detected by clinical examination that she has jaundice?

Her Liver function test, Complete blood count and kidney function with electrolytes will be required.

If she is dizzy and dehydrated may be admitting to hospital is good. This is good that she is not diabetic.

Oral and intravenous fluid can be given.

Hope this information helps.
Wish her good health.
Take care

Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
