Nausea, Vomiting And Vision Problem For Few Hours Following A Head Injury. Is This Something Serious?

I was getting in my cleaning my car today and somehow I opened the door and smacked my head with the car door. About 5 minutes later I started getting nauseus and I layed down. Soon after that I started throwing up. I never got a headache just a sore spot on my forehead. The vomiting lasted bout 2 hours and had a little bit of vision problems. Everything seemed to stop and no symptoms for about 8 hours. Is this a cause of a minor concussion or should I be concerned?

Hello,
Symptoms of nausea, vomiting and visual problems after head injury (even though seemingly a trivial injury) should be taken seriously.
Subdural hemorrhage is the possibility that should be excluded only after relevant investigations are normal, such as CT Head.
If you are diabetic, have vascular problems, or on blood thinning drugs such as aspirin, warfarin or have taken pain killers you are at risk of bleeds outside and inside the brain.

So please get yourself checked as soon as possible, and definitely more so if any of the earlier symptoms return.

Best Wishes.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe it is a definite concussion. Typical signs of concussion are present. You need to have a C.T scan for diagnosis and treatment. So i advise you to consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment.
Now there may be no symptoms , but suddenly they may appear, and create an emergency.
Then you may have to run, at an odd hour, or it may lead to a hemorrhage.
I wish that every thing is good. Thank you.
