Nausea, Bladder Infection, Minor Pain, Soreness Above Incision. Had A Hysterectomy, Ovary Removed. Treatment?

I had a hysterectomy, with the left ovary removed four months ago, I am still quite sore on my lower left side just above my incision. It hurts sometimes when I stand up. I have also had minor pain when I empty my bladder, I have been treated for a bladder infection, but the symptoms seem to be getting worse, I am feeling quite nauseous, and bloated most of the time now. Any suggestions?

Hi,

As your left ovary is removed, you still have the right ovary, which means, your periods are still in. That could partially explain your problems.

Next, you are "still sore" on your lower left side above the incision; I would gently ask if there is any discharge or changes in the appearance of the incision?

In addition, if you have suffered once from bladder infection, it might most probably gone back again. Do urine analysis, urine culture to determine if you have the infection.

Next, you might have infection of genital organs, therefore, I would suggest to do the testing of vaginal discharge (microscopic exam) and the respective culture.

What is more, I would also suggest to do an abdominal (and genital) ultrasound to see better what's really happening inside you.

Your feeling of nauseous is partially related to uro-genital problems and to intestinal concerns.

With regards of being bloated, to my opinion, it might be related to candida of intestines due to overuse of antibiotics for bladder infection. You can consult your doctor to take nystatin thrice a day, probiotics, and sodium salts.

Try to eat often and small portions, avoid oily or salty foods.

Hope it helped!
