My wrist is swelling and it is painful

I was leaning on a wall last night and I twisted kinda funny and felt a pop in my wrist and it burned, I can move it and use immediately swelled up, the pop was on the thumb side of my wrist and the swelling in about mid to distal forearm and my arm feels very fatigued...what is recommended for is only painful when I use it alot. It s a little warm to touch.

Hi,thanks for query.This could be nothing but swollen muscls due to pressure on it or some twisted movement as you had.Apply some ice over the area,take analgesic tablet.You can even apply local analgesic cream over it.It should be fine in couple of days.There is no reason for worry.

There could have been a ligament injury at the base of the thumb. You need to avoid movement of that hand at all costs. Get it splinted and see the Orthopaedician who may take an X-ray to confirm any injury. When swelling has appeared it is not a sign to forget about. Take a pain killer over food and consult your Orthopaedician immediately.
