My son has hypothyroid. He is under treatment and maintaining normal levels throughout. However he has short stature. He has always been a colicky baby. Age WT HT 6days 6lbs 18.5`` 4mths 11lbs 23`` 7mths 13lbs 24`` 1yr 21.5lbs 28`` 1-1/2yrs 24lbs 32`` 2yrs 23lbs 33`` 3-1/2yrs 25lbs 33.5`` 4yrs 32lbs 37`` 6yrs 16kg 7yrs 17kg 101.2cms As is apparent, hisgrowth has been irregular. Could you please tell me the reason for this? And what if any tests need to be performed? Other factors : • He has suffered frequent and severe bouts of cold and cough over the first 5 years (almost every two months). Treatment included antibiotics and steriod and complete AKT for 9months. • He is a poor eater that is to say that although he eats sufficient quantity, his diet is limited to few items of food. • His bone age is below his age. (at the age of 4 he showed a boneage of 2 and at 7 that of 4 years). • Although he was a colicky baby and went thru a period of being constipated, he has not had noticable stomach related problems.
