My Mom Has Knot On Back For Years That Has A Sour Smelling Discharge. What Could It Be ?

Knot on back for years that has a sour smelling discharge My mom has had a knot on her back just below her shoulder blade for about 15 years and she has dad squeeze it every 6 months or so and a white discharge comes out. What could this be? How is it treated?

Hello,
You should have you mom examined by a doctor. If the knot has been there for so long then it could either be a chronic abscess,or a cyst.15 yrs without treatment is a long time.Any involvement of surrounding structures should be ruled out first. If its an abscess then she will need a minor procedure to drain it.Same for a cystic lesion.Antibiotics will be necessary.
