Hi Docotor, My husband is 28 yrs old married since 4 months,When we had intercourse all of a sudden he got a pain in his penis,When examined,the outer skin got a very little wound .At the time of intercourse,In my vagina their was not enough lubrication.Is this wound might be because of that. Welcome to HCM.
Skin tear in the foreskin is caused by drawing it back on a fully erect penis, when it gets stretched causing tear. This occurs when the foreskin is tight and does not slide back easily.
If the foreskin cannot be drawn beyond the head of the penis, then circumcision is necessary, because cleaning of the penis shaft proximal to the head will not be possible, leading to collection of debris, which is harmful.
If the tear is minor, clean the part with antiseptic solution such as detol or savlon and apply antibiotic ointment such as betadine to prevent infection.
Lack of vaginal lubrication can aggravate the problem.
You can have intercourse, when the wound heals completely and there is no difficulty in retracting the foreskin over the head of the penis.
