My husband has had a heart attack caused by a blood clot, what is the cause of it ?

my husband as had a heart attack caused by a blood clot.?
what causes a blood clot he is only 33 and dosent smoke , does plenty of exercise and eats well .

It could be he has some build up of cholesterol in the arteries or veins. This can be dislodged in the system and can cause a heart attack. Other times, if your husband had a arryhtmia such as atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation this can cause a blood clot and this will be dislodged in your system. There are also people who are prone to have blood clots.
