My heart rate goes up and down

I am 37 years old. My normal resting heart rate is about 126. I was at the doctor yesterday and it was 138.? I have had stress tests and such. All fine. Is this just normal? I have been as high as 178 before.

A normal heart rate is considered to be 60-100 beats per minute, but there are lots of people that are much slower and faster that can be considered normal as well. Sometimes, but not always they'll put you on medication to slow ya down a little bit. If you've been evaluated by a doctor, and your rhythm is a normal rhythm, then you're probably okay. If you continue to be concerned, or have chest pain, dizziness, fainting or near fainting spells, then I'd ask for a referral to a cardiologist or request to wear a monitor to be evaluated further.
