My Fetus Has Not Settled Down Into The Pelvis Even After 38 Weeks 3 Days Of Pregnancy. What Can Be Done Now ?

hallo doctor ..... i m 38 weeks 3 days pregnant (according to ultrasound )... and my EDD is 8 may 2011, but my doctor said:- Your baby not settles down into your pelvis... he is in upper side.... what can i do now.... plz help me... which type possibility now....

Hi,
the opinion of gynac is that baby not settled down i.e. still head is not engaged.
One cause is that placenta is low down and not allowing baby's head down.There are other causes by which baby's head is not engaged.
There are all chances of going for Caeserin section.(C.S.operation)

Hi
If the baby is coming by the head (cephalic), then it can come down into the pelvis during labour. But if you mean by ' upper side' that it is upside down (Breech), then you need to deliver abdominally ( C-section ). I hope I understood your question right
