My Calf Muscles Gets A Nasty Deep Achey Pain In It, Kindly Help Me

hiya, I m a 28 year old female with 2 children and i work part time. i know this will sound silly, but my legs are just so restless, especially at night. my calf muscles gets a nasty deep achey pain in it, its as if i need to detach my legs from my body and let them run around. if i could pull the muscle off my leg, squeese it, strectch it and then put in back in place i would. it s worse when i m on my period, i get it at night, and if i sit for a while in the day, wen i get these pains, i tend to be very tired the following few days and my legs feel sluggish in the day but restless at night. i get my partner to rub them for me at night just to ease the pain so that i can fall asleep. i just wondered why i keep getting these feelings. thanks

Hello,
thnx for having trust in Healthcaremagic.See what you are suffering from could be due to some deficiency(iron/ Vit B12), which is very common, or it could be due to some neurological problem.Again some people, who on certain medications like Beta blockers, diphenhydramine may also have these kind of problems as its side effects. You have not mentioned if you have a history of having some problem in the kidney too.So first of all, i would suggest you to get some baseline blood tests done including CBC and then followed by Iron profile/ Vit B12 levels if required.Pl do consult with a physician with the reports.

hiya, thanks for your quick response. i had blood tests done a few months back and all came back fine... i also had a scan done on my womb and overies to check for polysistic overies as i was having problems with periods and hair growth so they did a bit of an MOT on me. i have never had kidney problems. the scan came back clear and the hair growth was put down to me being olived skin and the way i am so i am now using a cream called vaniqa to slow the growth. i have irregular periods, usually a cycle is between 27 and 39 days long.. i can't take the pill as i can't have hormones as these make my hair growth worse and kick start my acne (i take a mild anti biotic for this).. so i have had the coil fitted (copper one no hormones).. i'm just putting everything down incase this could be causing my restless legs etc.. thanks
