My brother hit his head hard. Does he have a concussion ?

Hi, my brother who is 18 was running on the outside deck, he lost his footing and tripped over his feet, fell to the left and banged his head so hard on the big steal bar. He looked confused, he said his eyes went black for a second. He fell asleep for an hour, then he watched a movie. That was 4 hours ago, right now, he thought he was choking on a fishbone, so he panicked, and put his fingers down his throat. He said his ears were ringing from anxiety. He doesn t have a headache but he wants to go to sleep. He says his head is tender where he hit it, and feels tense. He is not dizzy, and his eyes are okay. Does he have a concussion ? The neighbours heard him hit his head, but they are close by. What will happen to him tonight or in the next few days ?

It looks like signs of head trauma. Bleeding into the cranial cavity has to be ruled out using a ct scan. I would advise you to call your emergency number immediately and consult a neurosurgeon. It is an absolute emergency to treat your brother on time. I hope i have answered your query. Take care and wishing your brother a speedy recovery
