My Blood Pressure 150/74, Is There Anything Else I Can Do ?

I am a 66year old female. I have been monitoring my blood pressure over the last couple of days. It is has gone up and down and is now 155/74. I am on medication (metapropolol 50mg) Is this normal for a female of my age ? If not, is there anything else I can do ?

Hi Welcome to healthcaremagic.com,

Absolutely the blood pressure is not controlled. It should be less than (130/80). You can do few things- lower the salt and do aerobic activity.

Still not controlled add another medication like -Nifedipine to the existing medication.

Regards Dr. Jagdish
