My HBA1C result is high but glucose test is normal. Am I diabetic ?

MY HBA1C RESULT IS 7.8 BUT ORAL GLUCOSE TEST IS 122 MG% I DONT SHOW ANY EXTERNAL SYMPTOM OF DIABETES AND THE ORAL GLUCOSE TEST SHOWS THE SAME RESULT FROM DIFFERENT LAB. BUT HBA1C TEST WAS DONE ONLY ONCE. MY AGE IS 28 HEIGHT 5FT 6INCH. WEIGHT 53 KG.

Hi,thanks for query.The normal value of HbA1C is less then 7.You can avoid medicines at present and do good diet planning and reduce your weight if you are over weight.Repeat your HBA1C after 3 months and if not normal you may need medicines then.apart from this please ask your first degree relatives to get their blood sugar checked.wishing you good health.

Hello.Welcome.You have not mentioned whether this blood sugar level of 122 mg% is fasting,PP or random.Your HBa1c definitely proves you to be diabetic.Keep getting your fasting and PP sugar done every 15 days.Start regular exercises and avoid sweets and saturated fats.If not careful you can land up with full blown diabetes.Good luck.

thanks for the query
from your report you don't have to worry much
in the initial stage you have to modify your diet and life style
do regular 20 to 30 min exercise4 like simple walking
take small and frequent meals
add more whole grains in foods. take good sleep. avoid stress
take more green leafy vegetables
do this regularly.if possible you can add yoga to life. you can keep control in blood sugar for rest life.regularly check up your blood sugar level
