Psychiatrist 's  Response
It is natural for a person to worry about chest pain as it arouses the worst fear known to man, the fear of death. The fear is based on the misconception that any problem in the heart is indicative of a "heart attack".

Non specific chest pain (in the absence of any positive tests) is a common symptom of anxiety. Other symptoms like palpitations (feeling one's own heart beat), breathing difficulties, sweating, trembling and heavyness of head may also accompany chest pain. Consult a psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and proper treatment which will help you overcome your doubts and problems. Remember that mind and body are inseperable (recall the palpitations you might have had during stressful exams)
