Effects depend on how much amount he has ingested.It would mostly cause some gastritis.

Dont panic.Giv him plenty of wat er and breast feed.watch for abdominal discomfort, rash or diarrhoea.If present take him to your pediatrician.take the ointment packet to show to doctor.
