My 8 Year Old Daughter Is Diabetic??

My daughter was diagnosed at the age of 4. And till this day i still have problems with her eating things that she shouldn t. Her target range is 80-150. But she s always high. I mean I get so frusturated because i try so hard to keep her under control. I have 2 other kids that i have to care for also. She draws most of the attention becuase of her condition. I love all my kids equal but it s hard when you try to explain to her that it s important to follow the meals and the carbs. She is growing but i am afraid of all the insulin i give her can affect her organs in the long run... !! What do you think I should do that I probably haven t already! Thanks

insulin does not harm in any way in long run. it is the hormone which is produced in the body and because of its deficiency it needs to be taken from outside. the only thing which is going to affect  in the long run is blood glucose levels. if it is not maintained at good level the organs like kidney, brain, eye will be more affected in hte long run. get the HBA1c tested once in 3 months. it is the best method to see how the blood glucose is kept under control in the last three months
