My 4 Year Old Baby Has White Patches On Her Elbows And Knees Which Got Worse In The Sun

My 4 year old has white patches on her elbows and knees which got worse in the sun and is spreading. The doctor said dry skin but I know that is not what it is. Where do I start and what could it be?

Hello Renee
Welcome to healthcaremagic forum.
White patches on skin worsening on sun exposure could be vitiligo, eczema or psoriasis.
You should consult a dermatologist who can after thorough examination and if required conduct some tests like biopsy, blood counts and confirm the diagnosis before starting apropriate treatment.please avoid any sun exposure , use mild sunscreen as advised by your doctor and avoid any harsh chemical soaps or creams.
Thank you

Looks like a case of vitiligo, unstable one as well. The first step you need to take to arrest the spread is by diet only, avoid curd, fish, eggs and all sour artilces BUT it will take time for the spread to arrest, till then you may be seeing new spots developing. Once the stage of spreading pass over then it will become stable.
