Moving Bump On Scalp, Hard And Bony. Hair Growing Curly On Them, Not Painful. What Is It?
Hi, I have a bump on the scalp for the past 9-10 years. Its hard, bony but moves. The hair that grows on it is curly unlike the rest of my hair which is straight. Its smooth and flatted, doesn't come out of the skin as such. In the past 6 months I was under a lot of stress and I noticed another one but of a much smaller size. They aren't painful to touch and only pain if I press down on them too hard. Anu idea what could they be?
Your problem is chronic in nature and these chronic causes are generally benign in nature.
There may be various causes of swelling. As it is hard in nature it may be bony in origin. It may be osteoma etc but its mobile nature is against this. So,Non contrast CT Scan of brain should be done. It can help in diagnosis.
There are other possibilities also.
You also need proper clinical examination, So consult your surgeon.
Get well soon.
